Training for Trainers

The following activities are part of the training for the 3Steps project. As the 3STEPS training has multiple sessions, these activities are supplementary to these sessions and supposed to be conducted by the participants on their own. Thus, they can be accessed here. Additionally, preparatory texts can be found here, which training facilitators might ask you to read.

3 Steps Trainer Profile

This training is aimed at professionals working on educating low-skilled migrants (including refugees) as well as individuals training to become such.

It is a supplementary training, teaching an approach to migrant education, thus it does not replace any formal training requirements in your country of activity and trainers undergoing this training still ought to be trained on basics of teaching migrants as well as the subject they are supposed to teach.

Professional experience:

Preferably, participants have prior practical experience working with migrants, as it helps in the reflective activities of the training and makes it easier to understand the subject matter. Not mandatory. 

Personal prerequisites:

As the 3STEPS training aims at also empowering migrants and integrating them into society, the training requires of trainers

  • an open mind,
  • respect for the dignity of others
  • a willingness to be sensitive to cultural and migrant-specific issues
  • commitment to an inclusive society
  • readiness to reflect their own practice regarding efficacy, intercultural sensitivity and ethical standards.
